Dani Alves’ victim, in her statement: I resisted but he was much stronger than me
Barcelona legend Dani Alves was taken to jail this past Friday, January 20, 2023, after a 23-year-old woman accused him of rape.
The 39-year-old, who has been let go by Liga MX club Pumas following the allegations, traveled to Spain for his mother-in-law’s funeral only to be held by the authorities after a judge was convinced by the testimony of his alleged victim.
The newspaper La Vanguardia has now published some of the statements of the 23-year-old woman following the testimony to the authorities.
The girl alleged that the Brazilian player locked her in a bathroom in the VIP area of the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona and raped her, an accusation that Dani Alves denied before the judge.
El Periodico reports that the incident in the bathroom between Alves and the complainant lasted about 15 minutes, and the duration can be seen in the recording of the establishment’s security cameras.
According to the statement, the complainant and some friends were invited by the footballer and a Mexican friend to a VIP table in the establishment.
“Alves immediately started fooling around with the three of them, hitting on them a lot and touching them,” a part of the statement reads.
“I didn’t know what was behind that door, I thought there would be another VIP area.”
The victim also said Alves whispered in her ear though she didn’t understand him, believing the phrases were uttered in Portuguese.
Detailed description of the alleged rape.
He allegedly grabbed her hand tightly and Alves took it to his penis, a gesture he reportedly repeated several times despite her refusal.
El Periodico published the gruesome contents of the complainant’s version which stated that Alves urged her to come with him to the toilet before engaging in the assault.
“Alves forced her to sit on top of him, threw her to the floor, forced her to give him fellatio which she actively resisted, slapped her, lifted her off the floor and penetrated her until he ejaculated,” the report reads.
According to La Vanguardia the former Barcelona and Sevilla footballer forced the young woman to say she was “his little wh**e” during his sexual assault.
“I resisted but he was much stronger than me,” explained the young woman who alleged rape she suffered occurred on December 30.
Dani Alves offered up to three different versions of the facts before the judge.
In Alves‘ statement to the judge, the player admitted, according to TV3, that he had been in the club, but maintained that he had only been there for a short time and denied the sexual assault. An account that, in the opinion of the examining magistrate, contradicts the evidence gathered.
As reported by TV3, Alves stated three different things: first, he said that he did not know the girl he allegedly sexually assaulted, then he said that he had seen her but nothing had happened, before finally admitting he said that she was the one who jumped on him.
